Congratulations to our 2020 Officers and Board Members

Due to the passage and signing of Senate Bill 5122 (Chapter 58, Laws of 2017), the commissioner compensation per diem rate adjustment has been moved from July 1, 2018 to January 1, 2019.

Based on calculations provided to other special purpose districts earlier this year, fire commissioners can expect compensation to increase from $114 to $128 per day with an annual maximum increase from $10,944 to $12,288 effective January 1, 2019. These amounts are preliminary and may change slightly, but the WFCA recommends using these dollar amounts for 2019 budgeting purposes. We expect to be notified by OFM of the exact rate adjustment in the next few weeks and will, in turn, notify fire service agencies.

Website Review:

Two commissioners are needed to join with the treasurer and our web master in a review of the organization’s website. The objective will be development of recommendations for updating and improving the site to facilitate efficient communication and cost effectiveness. Interested members should forward an email to Mark Thompson or Anita Sandall for discussion and action at the September 2 executive board meeting. Call or email Alan Martin concerning questions.
